Trainings
Does your youth council want to become even more effective? Are you looking for fresh ideas or a refresher on meeting techniques? Or does your municipality have a new youth council that could use a kickstart?
Nuva ry offers training tailored specifically for municipal youth councils, covering a wide range of topics relevant to youth councils and young influencers, as well as youth workers. Training can include one or multiple sessions depending on your needs, combining both theory and practical exercises.
Trainers
Sessions are led by young peer trainers (introductory level) and Nuva ry experts (advanced expert sessions). Peer trainers bring firsthand experience from youth councils and inspire participants with practical tips for making an impact. Expert sessions dive deeper into the topics and provide comprehensive insights.
Expert trainings for 2025 are being developed and will be published as they become available. To request an expert training on a specific topic, please contact our training specialist at toimisto@nuva.fi.
Booking a Training
You can book training for your municipality through our website. Trainings are offered both live and online. Each session typically lasts 1.5–2 hours, and longer trainings can combine multiple topics.
Peer-to-Peer Trainings
- 2 h: €250
- 3 h: €375
- 4 h: €500
- Full day (6 h+): €550
Expert Trainings
- 1 h: €170
- 2 h: €340
- 3 h: €500
- 4 h: €650
- Full day (6 h+): €800
In addition to the training fee, travel, accommodation, and meal costs for the trainer(s) will be invoiced.
We offer a 25% discount if over half of the participants are members of the Union of Local Youth Councils in Finland with current membership fees paid. Please indicate eligibility when booking.
- Cancel at least 14 days before the training free of charge.
- Cancel 7–13 days before: 50% of the training fee.
- Cancel less than 7 days before: full training fee.
Cancellations must be submitted in writing to toimisto@nuva.fi.
Nuva ry may cancel a training up to 7 days prior if no trainer is available. If a trainer is unexpectedly unavailable within a week of the training, Nuva ry will reschedule but is not liable for compensation.

- Peer Trainings: Basics of youth council work, running effective meetings, motivating young influencers.
- Expert Trainings: Team dynamics, annual planning, youth participation in municipal and regional decision-making.
- Peer Trainings: Organizing impactful events, communication skills, motivating young influencers, team collaboration.
- Expert Trainings: Solution workshops, advanced communication, influencing strategies at local and regional levels.
Expert Trainings: Equality and inclusion in youth councils, understanding privilege and barriers, supporting diverse participation.
Training Packages
Full-day training packages (approx. 8 hours) are available, combining multiple topics for an in-depth learning experience. Packages include two trainers (either two young trainers or one young trainer + one expert). In 2025, pilot packages are available at a discounted rate of €600 (normally €800).
